I had a ‘93 XJ once upon a time that didn’t come with a key. The previous owner took the title to marks and they were able to cut a key.

It’s been awhile! Still haven’t started the build yet. Life gets in the way ya know. But now that the date is almost here (just over a week now) I thought I’d update where I’m at.

Took the jeep out for a little fun in Cedro and found out it has an overheating issue. So, new water pump, thermostat, sensor, fan shroud, radiator and heater core flush later it now runs too cool! Heater takes for ever now! At least it won’t overheat on me!

I knew there’d was a problem with the window switches. The driver switches worked but none of the others did. Traced it down to the window lock button and felt lazy so I just bought a new switch for $15 on Amazon.

Prepped the frame rails for the frame stiffeners install. Under-coating is the devil!

I attempted to install the ARB air compressor in just about every nook and cranny I could find. Under seats, in cubbies, in the engine compartment, behind the front fender, everywhere. No luck! A buddy of mine helped me mock up a bracket to put where the factory spare was. This location should work well. I’ll post up the compressor install next week after I get the bracket.

I found an NP231J transfer case to replace the 242. Why? The 242 is a perfectly fine t-case for sure but it just doesn’t meet my needs and after market support is crap! So I’m swapping it out. I tore the new case down, changed the seals and chain, and installed an Advanced Adapters SYE kit. (See pics)(yes, I did it on the coffee table). This was ridiculously easy to do. I also swapped out the rear yoke for a flange. These are more versatile and a lot more reliable when running a double cardan drive shaft.

And, to top it all off I washed it! No one like tonwork on a dirty jeep! So here is a couple before pics
